Sales and Service Tax (SST) consists of sales tax and service tax.

In compliance with the latest regulation issued by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, an 8% Sales and Service Tax (SST) on financial services will be effective from 1 October 2025.

As a licensed investment platform, FSMOne Malaysia is required to impose service tax on applicable services in accordance with the prevailing tax regulations.

The 8% Sales and Service Tax (SST) will be effective 1 October 2025.

The SST will be applied to transaction fees (where applicable) for transactions made on or after this date.

Examples of Calculations:

1. Unit Trust
Investment Amount: RM1,000
Sales Charge: 1.50%
SST on Sales Charge: 8%
Investment Amount (after Sales Charge): RM1,000 / (1+ 1.50%) = RM985.22 
Sales Charge Amount: RM1,000 – RM985.22 = RM14.78 
SST Amount: RM14.78 × 8% = RM 1.18 
Net Investment Amount (after Sales Charge + SST): RM1,000 – RM 14.78 – RM1.18 = RM984.04

2. Bond
Nominal Value: RM1,000
Transacted Price: RM103.50
Principal Amount: RM1,000 × 103.50 = RM1,035.00
Processing Fee: RM1.88
SST on Processing Fee (8%): RM1.88 × 8% = RM0.15
Total Amount Payable: RM1,035.00 + RM1.88 + RM0.15 = RM1,037.03

3. Bond Fund Platform Fee
Average AUM: RM1,000
Quarterly Platform Fee Rate: 0.05%
Platform Fee Amount: RM1,000 × 0.05% = RM0.50
SST on Platform Fee (8%): RM0.50 × 8% = RM0.04
Total Quarterly Platform Fee: RM0.54

4. PRS Transfer Fee 
PRS Transfer Fee = RM25
SST on Transfer fee = Transfer fee x SST Rate 
                                   = RM25.00 x 8% 
                                   = RM2.00

Total Transfer fee payable = Transfer fee + SST 
                                               = RM25.00 + RM2.00 
                                               = RM27.00
 

Yes, SST will be incurred if the switching involves a fee. (i.e. sales charge, switching fee, redemption fee). 

The SST charges will be reflected in your transaction records and account statements.

Any SST amount will be refunded to you along with your investment amount.

As the scope of the Service Tax expands, certain fees and charges not currently applicable to you may become subject to Service Tax at a later date. We will update the list accordingly and keep you informed of any additional fees or charges that may be subject to SST in the future.

No, SST is not applicable to PRS purchases and switching transactions within the same fund house, as there are no sales charges on PRS funds.

Yes, the transfer of a PRS fund between two different PRS providers will incur a transfer fee of RM25. Therefore, SST will be applicable.

No, withdrawal penalty is not subject to SST.

No, income/dividend distributions are not subject to SST.
