American depositary receipt (ADR) is a U.S. bank-issued certificate representing shares in a foreign company for trade on American stock exchanges. Investor holding American Depository Receipts (ADR) are subject to periodic fees intended to compensate the agent bank providing custodial services on behalf of the ADR.
These services typically, include inventorying the foreign stocks underlying the ADR and managing all registration, compliance, and record-keeping services.
Please note that such fees are determined and imposed by the ADR custodian or depositary bank and may not be disclosed upfront. As a result, the fees will only be communicated to clients once notification has been received from the relevant custodian or depositary agent.
ADR fees will be deducted in the following order, depending on the available balance in your account:
