If a person (usually family members) wishes to withdraw investment holdings from the deceased account, they are required to provide us the following documents:

a) Certified true copy of the death certificate;

b) Certified true copy Letter of Probate (with will) or Letter of Administration (without will)*;

c) Certified true copy of Identification card or passport which can prove the identity of the administrator;

d) Written Instruction** (Redemption / Transfer);

e) iFAST Account Issue Letter** ; and

f) FSMOne Internal Transfer form (Download here).

FSMOne shall pass the monies to the named person according to the instruction from the Court. Please be noted that no transactions can be done to a deceased account prior to the receival of documents. As such, the associated investment holdings will be subjected to the daily market price fluctuation.

*Probate or Letter of Administration needs to be applied from the Court.

Please be informed that we do not have a nomination system in our platform and thus you are not able to nominate a beneficiary for your investment account.

In the event of the account holder pass away, the deceased arrangement will follow the account type registered (i.e. Personal and Beneficiary account).

In the event that the main applicant has passed away, the beneficiary holder (upon 18 years old) is required provide us the following documents:

a) Certified true copy of the death certificate;

b) Certified true copy of Identification card or passport which can prove the identity of the beneficiary holder;

c) FSMOne Internal Transfer form (Download here).

d) Written Instruction* (Transfer);

To inherit the holdings, the beneficiary account holder will need to open a personal investment account. Thereafter, we will transfer the holdings under the beneficiary account to the new personal account. Once we have transferred the holdings, the beneficiary will have rights to perform action (e.g. buy/sell/switch/liquidate) towards his or her investment holdings.

If the beneficiary is a minor child (below 18 years old), then the surviving parent will become the legal guardian automatically.

The legal guardian is required open a new beneficiary account with the minor in order to allow the transfer of investment holdings from old beneficiary account to the new beneficiary account.

The Letter of Probate allows us to have proof that the person is authorized by the Court to ensure that he or she is named in the will to administer the deceased’s estate.

In the case where there no will is left by the deceased, the Letter of Administration is granted by the Court to appoint a person to administer the deceased’s estate.
