Yes, you may amend or cancel your stock or ETF order in your order book during trading hours, as long as the order has not been filled. 

To amend your  orders:

Go to Stocks & ETFs > Order Book → Select the order you want to amend → click on the green Modify button.

You can increase or decrease the price of your limit order. However, you can only decrease the quantity of your order but not increase the quantity. After filling in your new order details, key in your password for verification to proceed.

Please note that amendments of orders are not allowed for China A-Shares trading. You can only cancel and place a new order.

To cancel your orders:

Go to Stocks & ETFs > Order Book and click on the vertical ellipsis icon on the right side of trade that you wish to cancel and select “Cancel”.

• Acceptance of any amendments is subjected to stock exchange.

Orders may be rejected due to many reasons and the common ones are listed here:

• For KLSE order, price is out of spread due to dynamic or static price limit

• For KLSE, orders entered during Trading at Last phase where the price does not equal to the theoretical closing price

• For US order, if the limit price is ~30% away from prevailing market price or bigger than our counterparty's set thresholds, it may be rejected or stopped for review

• Insufficient purchasing power

• The security you have selected has been suspended, or delisted and etc..

Trading size less than the prescribed board lot size is termed as 'Odd Lot'. 'Odd Lot' refers to non-standard numbers of shares that arise from stock splits or bonus or rights issues.

For example: If the minimum board lot is 100 shares, a one-for-five bonus issue will result in the holder of 100 shares receiving an odd lot entitlement of 20 bonus shares.

A GTD order allows you to place an order that will remain in queue up to a specified date, up to a maximum of 30 calendar days or until order is entirely filled, cancelled/security is delisted, suspended or has corporate actions, whichever occurs first.

A GTD order can be cancelled/expired earlier than your specified date in the event of corporate action or other exchange related action set by the exchange.

However, please take note of the following:

• GTD order might become unfavorable when market conditions change,

• You may forget your order,

• The processing and exchange-related fees could be higher if the GTD order is partially filled on different trading days.

• Unexecuted GTD orders will expire at the end of your order validity.

• Orders may be rejected by the exchanges due to Dynamic Price Limits.

A Day order may be partially filled and the remaining outstanding order will expire after the market closes. The partially filled order will be subjected to processing and exchange-related fees.
For a GTD order, it may be partially filled multiple times over different trading days.

Partially filled GTD orders which are partially filled on different trading days will not be amalgamated where the processing and exchange-related fees would be charged on each day an execution occurs. Extra fee and charges earmarked will be released at the end of the trading day.

For example, if the entire GTD order takes 2 trading days to be entirely filled, it will be subjected to 2 times of processing and exchange-related fees.

Trade amalgamation is not applicable to orders for US exchanges.

A Stop order will be converted into a Market order in the order book once the target price (Stop price) as specified by the investor has been met.

The Stop order entry criteria will be as below: -

• Buy Order - Stop Price must be higher than Ask Price
• Sell Order - Stop Price must be lower than Bid Price

The Stop Order will be triggered when:

• Buy Order Price > Stop Price ≥ Best Ask Price

1. Market Order and the transacted price may be quite different from the intended price, especially in a fast-moving market or in poor liquidity stock.

SGX introduced a new Trade-at-Close (“TAC”) session with effect from 3 June 2019. TAC is a fixed price matching session when orders can only be matched at the prevailing closing price. It applies to SGX-listed securities, including stocks, ETF, Structured Warrants and Daily Leverage Certificates.

The TAC phase will occur at 5.06pm to 5.16pm on a full day trading day and from 12.06pm to 12.16pm on a half day trading day.

With the introduction of the TAC phase, you are now able to transact with price certainty at the already established TAC price and you are also able to fill an order that was not fully filled during the closing auction routine, as all outstanding limit orders at the end of the closing auction will be carried forward into the TAC phase.

1. You can enter new orders, amend or delete orders.
2. The price of the new order and amendment has to be the same as the TAC price, otherwise the order will be rejected.

3. Partially filled/unfilled orders with a worse or at the TAC price from the close auction will be carried over to the TAC phase.

4. If the price of a GTD order is amended to a non-TAC price, the order amendment will be rejected during the TAC phase but the original order will still remain in the order book under the original order price.

5. Only limit orders and GTD orders with established closing price are applicable during the TAC phase.

6. Unfilled/partially filled GTD orders from TAC phase will be carried over to the following trading day. Unfilled/partially filled day orders from the TAC phase will expire at the end of the day.

Notes:

• The TAC phase will only occur if a closing auction price is established for the security. The TAC price will then become the Previous Close on the next trading day.

• Orders entered during the TAC phase will only be filled if there is adequate interest on the other side of the trade.

• The TAC applies the key principle of continuous trading session whereby incoming orders are matched immediately against resting orders in the order book based on time priority.

You may access to TAC price in Live Trading as well as in the Order Pad during TAC trading hours.

A limit order is an order to buy or sell at a specific price or better. A buy limit price will be executed at the limit price or any price lower i.e., the highest price you are prepared to buy and a sell limit price will be executed at the limit price or higher i.e. the lowest price you are prepared to sell.

Do remind that a limit order will not be filled if there is no matching buy or sell orders at the specified limit price or better.

A market order is an order which is entered into the exchange with a specified quantity but without a price. The order will be executed at the best price currently available in the market.

Example:

A Buy market order for 200 shares was placed and the market has a total offer quantity of 100 shares. 100 shares will be matched and the remaining order will be canceled.

Risks associated with using Market Orders:

1. There is no guarantee that an order will be filled at a target price. A buy order could be filled at a much higher price than intended, or a sell order can be filled at a much lower price than intended.

2. The order may be split across multiple investors on the other side of the transaction, resulting in order being done at different prices.

3. Using Market Orders during a volatile market and/or for illiquid securities is not recommended as price can be out of control.

*Additional 5% Purchasing Power will be held for Market Order to cater to price movement during the execution of the market order. Unutilized Purchasing Power held will be released immediately once the order has been executed.
